What are the prerequisites for this course?

This course is designed for students who already have a basic understanding of Excel (such as entering data and simple formulas) but want to master data analysis. No prior experience with Pivot Tables is required, as the course starts with the fundamentals of data normalization and table structures.

Will I learn how to create interactive dashboards?

Yes. A core component of the master class is learning how to combine Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, Slicers, and Timelines to build dynamic, interactive dashboards that allow users to filter and visualize data in real-time.

Will I learn how to perform calculations within a Pivot Table?

Yes. You will explore advanced calculation options, including "Show Values As" (for percentages and running totals) as well as creating Calculated Fields and Calculated Items to perform custom math within your reports.

What is the difference between a Pivot Table and a Pivot Chart?

A Pivot Table is used to summarize and calculate large amounts of raw data into a readable format. A Pivot Chart is the visual representation of that summary. This course teaches you how to master both to tell a complete story with your data

Are practice files included?

Absolutely. The course includes downloadable Excel workbooks and data sets. You will be able to follow along with each lesson and complete specific case studies and practice questions to reinforce your learning.

Does the course cover data preparation?

Yes. Before diving into Pivot Tables, the course covers how to "clean" and normalize your data. You will learn why using Excel Tables (Ctrl + T) is essential for creating dynamic reports that update automatically when new data is added.

Does this class qualify for CPE credits?

Yes! This class is accredited through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and earns 8 CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of class.

Is there a live online option?

Yes. We offer this class in both in-person Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Oklahoma City and live online formats. The online class is always led by a live instructor — not a pre-recorded video.

What do I need to bring to the in-person class?

Nothing! We provide a full-size training computer, class materials, and snacks and drinks throughout the day. Just bring yourself.

What materials do I take home after class?

You'll leave with the Excel practice file used during class and a student handbook so you can continue practicing on your own schedule.

How big are the public classes?

In-person public classes are small — up to 6 students — so you get plenty of individual attention from the instructor.

Can my whole team take this class together?

Absolutely. We offer private group training tailored to your team's schedule, location, and skill level.

Is the training hands-on or lecture-based?

Yes. Our classes are highly interactive with guided labs and exercises so participants practice every concept rather than just watching demonstrations.
